Head of Community

Reports to:  Roger Longden, Founder and Chief Giant

Location: Business is Manchester-based, but flexible on role location

Package: Circa. £35k + quarterly performance-related bonus + unlimited leave

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full time, flexible hours)

The role:

This is no typical community leadership role. If you’re a “sit-and-wait for things to happen” kinda person then this isn’t for you.

But, if you’re up for the excitement of owning your own P&L as you develop a world-leading community from the ground up which will add value to our existing clients and attract new members, then this is just what you’re looking for.

What will make it world-leading? Great question! The community will be a place for those using OKRs (TBG’s specialism ) to connect with peers, share best practice and help to forge the makings of a new profession. OKRs are really gaining in popularity at the moment and there is no limit to who is using them and where they are. That means this community will be big and it will be global (already we have demand in S. Africa, NZ and Aus) and we will achieve this by building strong local partners, so great partnership skills are essential.

Along with your determination to grow the membership, you will need to have the ambition to grow yourself as you will build up your own community management team over time. As you do this, you’ll be reporting directly to our Founder and Chief Giant, Roger and you will also have access to the marketing and admin support within the wider business.

This is a cracking opportunity if you have the vision and want the freedom to build your own plan and be given the resources and opportunity to deliver on it.

This will be a world 1st community and we want a 1st class Head of Community to build and lead it.

Oh, and we really give a shit about our values too which means it’s essential that you’re a good fit with them.

Who we are:

A niche consultancy with an international reputation for our specialist work in the realm of OKRs (Objectives & Key Results). Based in Manchester, but with clients ranging from Argentina, South Africa, New Zealand and all the usual suspects like N America and Europe, we deliver tangible impact for businesses who need to become more innovative and adaptive.

We may be a relatively small business but we punch well above our weight and have very big plans for the next 3-5 years. We doubled in size over 20/21 and want to accelerate that growth even further. We won’t do it at just any cost though, unlike a lot of businesses who claim to have values, we really live by ours and hold ourselves to account against them all the time – that’s what makes us who we are and why our clients trust us and love us.

We’re also mad about dogs too. And cats. And animals and the planet in general.
